Ohhh I am so ridiculously excited to finally publish this blog. It is a little late but beauty like this has no time restraints, right? :) As seen from previous posts, I was lucky to visit Europe in March, with the primary purpose of the trip being to visit family and friends in Romania, my birth place and a place I adore visiting whenever I get the chance. Sadly, that is not often. The last time I went was 2009. With my busy schedule (especially during the summer), I don’t get as much time to travel for months at a time, which a trip to Romania would benefit from with the large distance between the two countries. Romania is very special. So very very special. I was 10 when I immigrated to Canada but the attachment and bond I have towards the people and the scenery, the food, culture and music will never die. There are so many things to photograph, it’s hard to stop. I find I say that often but I think that just confirms again and again how much I love my “job” .. I feel like I will forever put the word “job” in quotation marks since it so rarely feels like one. It was really hard to pick my favourites. I spent about three weeks in various cities with different families and friends. I saw hilltops, remote villages, lakes, rivers, winding roads and an abundance of history and culture and got reacquainted with some very dear family and friends, friends that have known me since I was a little girl. I hope to go back soon, but for now I have these images to remind me of what a special place I come from. And if you’re thinking of going to Romania, do! You won’t be disappointed. I have heard time and time again from people who have visited Romania that it was one of their favourite places and they were continuously struck by how nice people were and how welcoming (and of course, how willing to feed you!). Oh and if you are planning to get married in Romania and would love your wedding photographer to travel from Vancouver to photograph your wedding, even more reason to message me! ;)
