Vancouver Wedding Photographer Engagement Session at Golden Ears Park and Alouette Lake

Janine and Mike and myself decided to go all the way to Golden Ears Park for their engagement session and what a wonderful decision that was! I haven’t shot at Golden Ears Park ever, in fact, I haven’t been since I was a LOT younger. It’s so gorgeous there, the trees remind me of Cathedral Grove and it’s so very lush! We went in the evening when the park is a lot quieter and we were able to have a lot of fun wandering around and taking beautiful pictures. Janine and Mike are getting married at the wonderful Fraser River Fishing Lodge in August and I am so very excited as that’s one of my favourite all-time venues. The view is phenomenal. But so is the view in Golden Ears Park, mountains across Alouette Lake, beautiful tall (so very tall!) trees, lush green everywhere. On the way back we stopped at a dike in Pitt Meadows and took advantage of the golden light as the sun was setting. Sigh. And they are such a wonderful, easy going couple .. with the kind of energy that makes my job so much easier. As I keep saying, having a good photographer / client relationship is so very important .. doing an engagement session together prior to the wedding is even MORE important .. having that chance to work together ahead of time, to relax, to see what the other is like. It is so very useful on the day of your wedding.

Here are some of my favourites from our evening together. xo
