Vintage Farm Inspiration Shoot

I have been so excited (and eager!) to publish this inspiration bridal shoot and I am so happy to have it published on one of my all-time favourite wedding blogs, Fab You Bliss. Below is the background story behind our wonderful project, as written for  Fab You Bliss.

I have always been in love with the idea of farm weddings and all the rustic beauty they offer and also with anything vintage. So, using a friend’s farm as an inspiration, I came up with the idea of combining my two loves and creating a vintage farm look that showcases the harmony between the farm’s natural beauty (including the gorgeous animals!) with a lot of vintage and rustic style pieces for decor from Spruce Rentals and a lot of vibrant colours to further inspire. Together, we created a very beautiful farm wedding scene using refurbished decor, vintage teacups, wine barrels and other rustic decor as well as gorgeous naked and buttercream cakes from When Pigs Fly Pastries

Floral Design by Lili did such an amazing job bringing the shoot to life with the floral arrangements (oh those garden roses!!!). From the colourful blankets, to the striking florals for the table and decor (a lot of wild flowers with garden roses for an elegant touch) and floral crowns for the baby lamb themselves, we created a very inspiring backdrop. For added softness and whimsical beauty, we added a lot of willow branches to a swing that was also part of the property. To offset the vibrant colours, we wanted the bride to look as soft and elegant as possible with a loose updo and romantic make-up done by the very talented Felicia Bromba and chose a gorgeous off-white Truvelle romantic gown with flowing chiffon and a lace top. The handmade dress is very versatile and can be worn with or without the lace top, so we added a vintage style belt from The Borrowed Collection for a different look without the top. We also added minimal vintage jewelry to complete the romantic scene.

With the animals being such an integral part of the farm, we thought it was so very important (and a unique touch) to also include them – with wool products such as the colourful handmade blankets and a roll of spun wool on the table as part of the decor and of course, inviting the animals themselves to make an appearance. We focuses our attention on the sheep, several one week old baby lamb and the dedicated border collie keeping us organized. Overall, I fell in love with the charming farm landscape and aimed to create an inspiration shoot that utilized the property to its fullest by focusing on the harmony between the gorgeous landscape and the animals that are so very central to the farm as a whole.
